Freak on a Leash

Am I normal?

It’s a question we all ask ourselves at some point. We may question what others think of us. This doesn’t just cover the sort of dynamic we have, although that does give me lots of questions. There are everyday things we do or say that make us think about ourselves. From a D/s stand point it’s understandable why we choose to be secretive about it. It’s not something you talk about over a family dinner table.

“What have you been up to?”

“Oh, you know, hitting my wife with things, telling her how much of a whore she is, scratching her with blades, that kind of stuff.”

I know that’s not how I’d tell someone, even if it might be fun to. We have spoken about if anyone we know were to find our blog and what we would do in that situation. Especially since most of our pictures are taken in our house so it’s possible to be recognised. For us it wouldn’t matter as much as it would for others, our jobs aren’t at stake if it was known. My thoughts are if they find our blog, they didn’t find it by accident. Maybe we have friends that would be interested in a similar lifestyle, then again maybe not.

We asked ourselves, would we be ok if people knew? Last week Gem went out wearing her play collar, our friends didn’t ask. One even helped me with the rope bondage to make fishnets, again not bothered. I joked if that counted as group play (apparently it doesn’t). People could be more accepting than we think. I’m not going to be walking Gem on a leash around town anytime soon though, just in case.

But there is something I do, something that people judge me for. I get called a ‘weirdo’. They don’t understand that I do it out of choice. I’ll do it once or twice a day. Even Gem thinks its odd.

I drink hot water. From a kettle, straight into a mug.

Dont look at me like that, I can see you frowning. I like coffee, tea etc but I see them as a special treat. If I have more than one coffee in a day I can feel jittery. I drink water most of the time but if I’m cold at work I need a way to warm me up.

There are plenty of other things I could point to, it’s just for some reason this gets the most attention. To answer my opening question, I am not normal, but there is nothing wrong with that.
